The Lord's people have always been a waiting people

God promised to Abraham that he would be the father of many nations. When Abraham was 100, God have him Isaac. "And so, after he patiently endured, he obtained the promise." Hebrews 6:15

God told Joseph that he would be a leader of his people. He faced slavery, imprisonment and years of waiting before he led the people of Egypt.

Moses spent 40 years tending to sheep before he answered God's call to deliver his people.

Paul waited through imprisonment and persecution. He pleaded for his thorn to be removed. He said, "What has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel."-Philippians 1:12

There are so many Biblical examples of people waiting on God. For freedom. For an answered prayer. For a dream to be realized. For healing.

We are a waiting people...

"If the Lord Jehovah makes us wait, let us do so with our whole hearts; for blessed are all they that wait for Him.

He is worth waiting for.

The waiting itself is beneficial to us: it tries faith, exercises patience, trains submission, and endears the blessing when it comes.

The Lord's people have always been a waiting people
